Research Support from the Asociación Contisuyo

The Asociación Contisuyo supports foreign and Peruvian-directed archaeological fieldwork and artifact analysis in the Departamento of Moquegua with non-financial, in-kind assistance such as

This Contisuyo support in kind complements a project's other sources of funding. Contisuyo cannot offer financial help to foreign or Peruvian projects. Projects funded under matching funds arrangements may be able to count Contisuyo's support towards their match requirements. Project support depends upon the number and size of requests each year, and evaluation of the project's potential and urgency by members of the Advisory Board of the Asociación Contisuyo.

All field projects must be properly authorized by the Instituto Nacional de Cultura. Obtaining an INC permit is the responsibility of each investigator, and since the Museo is located far from the main INC offices in Lima, we unfortunately cannot offer much help with this important part of the process.

If you are interested in submitting a research proposal, please contact Dr. Patrick Ryan Williams, Director of the Advisory Board of the Asociación Contisuyo, for current availablity of facilities.
